American science fiction writer George Martin answered some popular questions from his fans on his personal blog. He began his post by once again recalling the difference between a gardening writer and an architect writer, although he forgot to mention the lazy writers, which he looks much more like.

As for the ending theme of his A Song of Ice and Fire series, he, like a gardener, develops his stories as he writes them, without going into details over a long stretch of time. His stories grow gradually and can change under the pressure of unexpected details. But what Martin can guarantee for sure is that not all of the characters who make it to the end of the Game of Thrones series will make it to the end of the book. And not all the characters who died on the show will die in A Song of Ice and Fire.

And further disputes on the topic which ending is better don’t really bother him.
